ISIOLO COMMANDER RECOUNTS POLICE MESS CHAOS, KILLING OF NPR OFFICER, 4 INJURIES AND TEACHER’S DEATH

Isaac Sang, the County Police Commander of Isiolo County, has stated that one National Police Reservist (NPR) officer was killed while four others survived with injuries following a confrontation between police officers and cattle rustlers. Commander Sang said the criminals were attempting to seize livestock that had been recovered by the officers. He warned young people against joining criminal groups. Regarding a separate incident that occurred at the police mess grounds, Sang explained that officers were forced to fire shots into the air to disperse hundreds of people who had gathered there, some allegedly intending to escape with livestock. He added that authorities are searching for an individual who was armed with a firearm, fired shots, and then fled. He also confirmed the killing of the deputy head teacher of Leparua School, who was shot dead by criminals while heading home. The attackers stole the motorcycle he was riding.
