Prescribed to the patient , current, not discolored , and was the correct dose ; or B. It was off the EMS Unit. 2.The EMT received Medical Direction for said injection via patch received from dispatch. 3.The comment regarding the patient broken femur was not diagnosed in the field but rather commented on in retrospect after the patient was admitted and x-rayed at the admitting hosipital. This comment was not included in the EMTs field report. 4.The need to intubate the first patient was a call out for ALS backup or based on the assumption that a Paramedic was either on the rig , or on scene with the EMT. The EMT at no time exceeded his scope of practice. 5.The comment on the Altered Mental Status patient possibly being drunk or if its just plain madness was based upon an informal general impression of the patient prior to any other assessment made following. This comment would not be included in The General Impression of any official documentation. 6.Restraint was required to treat the combative second patient for which Law Enforcement was called. This was not attempted by the EMT alone. 7.Vitals, Sample History, OPQRST and DCAP BTLS revealed nothing that was an obvious indicator for the Altered Mental Status such as trauma or Hypoglycemia. As such, the patient was denied the right to refuse and transported code due his combative behavior and lack of any obvious disease related signs . Pertinent negatives were noted as were vitals and the patient was transported STAT due to the sheer ambiguity of his presentation. 8.GENERAL NOTE: Implied consent for care was taken with regard to both patients.
