In the beginning of a lot of comedians careers, they usually start at the Comedy Store in Soho, London. Comedians such as Alexei Sayle, Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmondson, French & Saunders, Nigel Plainer (Neil in The Young Ones), Paul Merton, Alexi Sayle, Lenny Henry have started here, and slowly ended up massive. In the very beginning, in 1998-1999, before Live at The Top of the Tower, Phoenix Nights or any of the stand up sets that came afterwards, Peter Kay did The Comedy Store.
