https://toolboom.com/en/digital-oscil... In our today’s video I will talk about how to calibrate an oscilloscope and why it is necessary. An oscilloscope is a very precise and sensitive piece of equipment. Even the slightest changes in the parameters of the surrounding environment can affect it: temperature, pressure, humidity and so on. Therefore, when abrupt changes in these parameters occur, parameters of the oscilloscope have to be adjusted as well. This process is called calibrating. One of the big advantages of modern oscilloscopes is that the user does not need to open it up and adjust potentiometers on PCBs to change some parameters. Everything is automatic. Using this SIGLENT SDS 1072 CML+ I will demonstrate how to calibrate an oscilloscope. 1:02 – Although I will use this oscilloscope as an example, absolutely all modern oscilloscopes are calibrated in the same way. So, even if you have a different model, this video will still be useful. Usually, the Calibration option is located in the Utility menu. Let’s go into this menu and find the Auto Calibration section. Here it is. Choose this option and enter the calibration mode. A message appears here (1:34) that warns us to disconnect all oscilloscope inputs. So, let’s disconnect the probes. If you have something connected to the USB input in the back or any other inputs, it is advisable to disconnect everything. In order to start the auto calibration process we need to press the Single button. Press the button… and the process begins. 2:18 – Looks like it’s finished, very quickly. Probably our oscilloscope has been calibrated before and that’s why the process finished so quickly, usually it takes about a minute. Press the Auto button. Our meander looks great, the oscilloscope is calibrated. Find us on social networks for more updates and useful tips: 👍 / toolboom 👍 / toolboom_com #toolboom #siglent #oscilloscope #DIY
