DIY: How to make a sundress using modeling method. Cutting and stitching. Sewing tutorial. Part 2.

Today we continue working with a dress of the white fabric with embroidery. I've made the pattern on the basis of the basic pattern. However, I've already changed it and designed a nice dress. Today I'll cut and tack the dress. Let's start cutting. What we need to do first is to straighten the edge of the fabric. It will be more convenient for me to work with it. I don’t need to think long. I have everything measured and written here. I add a couple of cm for the fitting ease here. Try to put the patterns on the same level when cutting. You don’t need any problems with the side seams. You’ll that it takes me just a couple of minutes to make a pattern and pin it.. I’ll also draw the side seams. I can cut them by sight, but I’d do it for you. Add 1 cm for the seams everywhere. Remember that we don’t need a blouse to be of the close fit. I check myself – enclose the edges before cutting. Just imagine how perfectly they would match. I make the notches on the waistline. I can’t work not knowing where it is. Sometimes I think What would I do if I didn’t know how to sew. Notice that I add 1 cm for the seams to all the details. I make notches on the centerfront. I cut out the shoulder straps adding 1 cm for the seams. You won’t confuse these details – the front one is more round. Now I’ll cut out the straps, the frill. I’ll ask one of our tailor to stitch it. At the same time I’ll tack the sun dress and the shoulder straps. I’ll just need to tack the frill to the sun dress. It would be better to add 7 mm for the seams in the curved places, but I think that maybe the shoulder straps will be too narrow, so I’ll use the extra mm to my advantage. It’s almost impossible to cut straight beca What is good about this method is that all the details match. You don’t need to fix anything. It’s the worst thing to do for me. I'll tack the edges of the shoulder straps to understand how the dress will look like on me. I’ll show you the finished item. Maybe I’ll go for a walk somewhere outside our studio. I want people not to be afraid of cutting. I know that some people give up sewing because they think that the cutting is too complicated. You’ll see that the frill and the bottom match, so I can attach them without hesitation. I do it temporarily, so I don’t put too much efforts in it. After that I’ll tack the shoulder seams and try the dress on. I recommend the frill at the knee level to all the ladies with my type of the body. When people see you in such dress, they look at the frill and don’t notice the belly. I can already imagine myself going for a walk in this dress.
