Chamonix 2012 - Vallée Blanche - Start

The Vallée Blanche is a ski trail of 22km, with a vertical descent of 2.800 metres, in a grand valley with Mont Blanc towering over us. The ski tour begins at Aiguille du Midi (3.842m) and finishes in Chamonix (1035m), opposite to the main Train Station, when snow depth permits. The constant view of Glaciers and Crevasses makes the scenery very beautiful and unique. There are several routes to make the Vallée Blanche. We took the Gros Rognon route, wich means we went through the right side of the Gros Rognon rock and found the other routes after this. We made the Vallée Blanche Tour with Rossier, Jean Noël a ESF monitor and Guide de haute montagne (http://www.chamonix-guides.com) on the beginning of February on a very uncrowded day (...and week), right after some consecutive days of huge snow falls. I used my new helmet camera POV2 HD.
