Royal Melbourne Show - Rare Super 8 Footage

The Royal Melbourne Show as it was in the mid 1960s. This never seen before footage was captured by my father-in-law when he upgraded to a brand new Super 8 camera. "The Show" was the go-to destination for just about every Victorian family - particularly city slickers who could experience the country first hand with sheep shearing, wood-chopping, cattle, pig and poultry pavilions - and all celebrated with a public holiday (known as "Show Day"). There were show-bags back then too - some free and the rest cheap - at a time when they really were "promotional". This footage contains some scenes of the "Mad Mouse" - the highlight of "sideshow alley", along with folk dancers and other children's rides. The footage is not automotive, but may be of interest.
