I had to start this restoration, which I previously uploaded in July 2021 from scratch. Like in my first upload it contains the CORRECT recording of act 1: when Golden Melodram first released this, they didn't have the master tapes of act one, and therefore patched it with act one of the Clemens Krauss recording from August 1953 in identical cast. All subsequent releases had that problem, since they were just copies of the GM set. Fortunately someone had recorded act one off the air and Allegro issued it on pirate LPs back in the 1950ies. Jay Kaufmann kindly supplied me with this rare reocrding. Quality is modest and pitch was extremely inconsistent, and I made a new attempt to get it right. Last year I realized that my GM CDs of acts 2 and 3 were defective, so I patched them with the Andromeda CD release, downloaded from YouTube.
