Join us on our birding adventures as we take our new (well... new to us) 4WD along Campbell Road in Kamarooka Bendigo to the Quarry and beyond. This was the first time we were able to drive up this road which was exciting for us to finally get to see what was beyond Distillery Dam. The roads were pretty good but there were a few sections of slippery thick clay so we were so happy to have the confidence of a 4X4. The area of Kamarooka, even though it's fairly close to Bendigo, is quite remote. Sadly it's an area where people dump their household rubbish which is really disappointing and aggravating!! Come on City of Greater Bendigo (and Loddon Shire) birdwatchers are your best tourism in this area so PLEASE CLEAN IT UP!! Keep our wildlife (and birdwatchers) safe! The Honeyeaters around Kamarooka are amazing! So many different species to see (particularly around the Quarry). On the day we were there, we saw: Purple-gaped White-fronted White-eared Yellow-faced Brown-headed Then we were off to Millwood dam where there were lots of little birds such as: Superb Fairywren Buff-rumped Thornbill Spotted Pardalote So, join us on our Kamarooka birding trip exploring new and exciting birding spots in our 4X4!!
