We cooked rabbit stew over an open fire, right in the woods where it was caught. Deep snow, snowshoes, real campfire cooking, and a few first-time experiments along the way. This was Cheryl’s first time making rabbit soup, cooked slow with vegetables and simple spices over the fire. We also tried bread on a stick for the first time and finished the day with tea as the sun went down. Not everything went perfectly — but that’s real outdoor life. From lighting the fire to tasting the stew, this is a true catch and cook adventure in the Newfoundland woods.
