In this video we take a look back at some very interesting facts surrounding Captain Caveman and all of his cartoon versions from 1977 onward and the actors from the original series like Mel Blanc, Vernee Watson, Marilyn Schreffler, and Laurel Page. His first series was Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels which was an amalgam of Charlie's Angels and Scooby Doo. Scooby and Captain Caveman were both Hanna Barbera shows, but Cavey as the Angels call him was created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears. Captain Caveman appeared on Laff-A-Lympics as a member of the Scoob Doobies and after his first show was canceled he was featured in a segment on the Flintstones Comedy Hour and later on in the 1980's he and his son became a segment on the Flintstone Kids cartoon series. His voice was the great cartoon genius Mel Blanc who did most of the Looney Tunes characters and a ton of Saturday morning cartoon Hanna Barbera voices. He even did the prime time voice of Barney Rubble on the Flintstones. Captain Caveman is available on DVD at Amazon.
