In the headlines... There seems to a contrast between the actions of Israel, and the perceived inactions of the United States, with respect to foreign policy. Turkey left fuming after Israel demolishes key military bases in Syria (I24 News) Policy Reversal: Why Is the U.S. Softening Its Position on Iran? (New Eastern Outlook) Isolationist Dangers of Trump Doctrine: Defending the Western World remains America's historical responsibility and destiny (Israel National News) As we will observe, while Israel is going full on to rid its borders of its enemies, the U.S. is seemingly going back and forth as to what it will do... Headline 1 Turkey left fuming after Israel demolishes key military bases in Syria (I24 News) Ankara is positioning itself to play a major role in the post-Assad Syria, filling a vacuum left by Iran, in a development that has put Israel on edge Ankara is positioning itself to play a major role in the new Syria, filling a vacuum left by Iran, in an expansion of Turkish sway that has put Israel—embroiled in a multi-front war of survival for the last year and a half—on edge. We are not surprised by this move from Turkey since it confirms that it will be a player in the last days against Israel per the Ezekiel 38,39 invasion where it takes part. The United States, on the other hand, is a wild card in all of this, as the next two articles state... Headline 2 Policy Reversal: Why Is the U.S. Softening Its Position on Iran? (New Eastern Outlook) Viktor Mikhin, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RAEN), Expert on Arab World Affairs In Recent Days, the Trump Administration—Known for Its Hardline Stance on Iran—Has Shown Unexpected Shifts in Rhetoric U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Steven Whitcoff, who previously advocated for a policy of “maximum pressure” on Tehran, now speaks of the need for “confidence-building” and “resolving disagreements.” This sharp turn in foreign policy strategy raises many questions: What exactly prompted Washington to change its approach? What factors influenced the decision to soften its stance? And most importantly—does the U.S. have a real plan of action, or is this just a temporary tactical maneuver? The softening of U.S. rhetoric is a clear sign that “maximum pressure” has failed ... Instead of backing down [to sanctions], Iran responded by escalating its nuclear activities. According to the IAEA, Tehran has significantly increased its stockpile of enriched uranium and begun developing more advanced centrifuges. Moreover, the country strengthened ties with Russia and China, finding alternative ways to bypass sanctions. As a result, the “maximum pressure” policy not only failed to achieve its goals but, from Washington’s perspective, worsened the situation by bringing Iran closer to developing nuclear weapons. This Russian website then lists what they think the U.S. must do, basically capitulating to Iran to have some type of half-baked peace. They do not seem to think that the U.S. will use its military might to solve the problem. The next story, coming from an Israeli, has a similar take on the matter. Headline 3 Defending the Western World remains America's historical responsibility and destiny (Israel National News) ... the Trump Doctrine ..encapsulated in the words "Make America Great Again." In President Donald Trump's foreign policy terms, and judging by his bellicose words and threatening actions, that also implies "Make America Isolated Again" and "Make America Neutral Again" as well as "Make America a Peace-Maker Again" President Trump publicly abandons Ukraine, attacks its elected leader, casts doubts on America's alliance with and commitments to NATO, and aligns himself with Russia as led by former KGB agent Putin who everyone regards as a dictator. ... Hopefully, they won't bring it and the world to the doorsteps of World War Three. This last sentence sums it up. Is the U.S. falling into the same patterns that brought about the past two World Wars? The fact that Trump has used military might of the U.S. to neutralize the Houthi threat seems to speak against this idea. However, we will have to wait and see what occurs in the short term. As always, we know from Scripture what the long-term results will be. Yet, we do not know exactly how we are going to get there... Recall, the U.S. is not a player in last days Bible prophecy... as to why, we must wait and see... Support the ministry of Don Stewart here: https://goinchrist.com/our-misionarie...
