I take you along on my nightshift in a busy emergency department in a hospital in London, from what we do for patients to my 4am breaks! I also go through why these late shifts are so challenging, but also why they can be incredibly rewarding. Emergency departments act as the essential barriers to the hospital, ensuring all patients that come through our doors are given necessary life-saving treatment, or referred on to the correct specialty. Since starting work in my department in London, i've learned so much and seen a huge variety of patients.
