Part one to a multi-part mini series, where I use a glass vase as an armature for decorating with Polymer Clay. I plan on covering this vase with little butterflies, the same Blue Butterflies from the cane I made long ago. (see below for links) I realize this video is a bit lengthy, but it couldn't really be helped as I do enjoy talking with you guys. All I do in this video is fully cover this glass vase with a single layer of clay using the middle setting of my dedicated Pasta Machine.. remember, all tools and equipment used with polymer clay should be dedicated to polymer clay permanently, and never be used for food again. Polymer Clay is a oven-bakable clay that will never dry out, and will stay soft forever so long as it's stored with non-porous containers like glass jars and compatible plastic containers, or even out in opening on glass, metal or marble surfaces. When in doubt use wax-paper as a temporary surface. Using wax paper is also a great way to protect your furniture from becoming "colored" when using colors such as red for example. I'll bake this vase for 15 minutes at 275 degrees to make it permanently hard. I show you how I work flat sheets of clay onto a rounded surface in this video, although, I realize a much better way (possibly) in the middle of the project! I do mention this a couple times in the video tho. In the next video I'll (possibly) do some texturing and then some sanding, I'll explain the reasons for those things in that video. Not sure if there will be a 3rd video on this project or not, but obviously there will be butterflies all over this vase I hope to hear from you guys, a LOT of changes in my life recently, all of them for the better too! I'll be doing another quick "hello" video, possibly on my second channel "TomsExtras" giving you a MUCH-NEEDED update on what's been happening in my life. Actually, on second thought, it may be better to just do this on THIS channel as not everyone is subscribed/follows that second channel. I hope all of you are well. Miss you. Thanks for sticking with me in all my absences it mean so much to me. LINKS!
