This video is for educational purposes. Following an investigation that involved the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Camden County Sheriff’s Office arrest three employees they said were involved in the beating of a 41-year-old inmate inside the county jail. This is a review of this use of force incident that took place in September 2022 at the Camden County Jail in Woodbine, Georgia. A review of this incident is necessary to aide in the prevention of excessive use of force incidents and to emphasize the proper way to utilize the minimum amount of force necessary to control an incident. I am convinces that we as a correction community can do more to educate each other on how to prevent these types of incidents and outcomes from happening. But In order to do that we must be able to have an honest discussion about what we should and should not do. So I’m starting this discussion now.
