I show you how I prepared my steel plates and threaded rod. I talk about the cost and share some money saving tips. My plates were designed by my architect to specifically address the load needed for this build. I had them made at American Metal Fabrications in Richmond Virginia. Fasteners were ordered from Albany County Fasteners. I am presenting this for informational purposes only. If you go the route of having yours built, consult an engineer. I make no guarantees about the strength or design or appropriateness of the plates and fasteners that I am using. This is video #63 of our DIY home build.
