Witnesses saw her standing outside her car talking to a man near a maroon minivan. Nobody stopped. Nobody thought anything was wrong. When deputies found her car hours later the engine was still running. Windshield wipers still going in the rain. Her purse on the seat. Her shoes on the floorboard. For thirty five years her case went cold. No arrest. No answers. No body ever found.
