Vincent Le visits Austin Bonsai Society for the June 2020 workshop. The club has put together an all day workshop where members were able to bring their own Olive or obtain a Yamadori Olea or Olive specimen from the club. We took turns discussing and working on everyone's trees throughout the day. This video is a rolling experience capturing a few of the moments. The topics covered include wiring, styling, carving, deadwood maintenance, and many other techniques for caring for Olea bonsai. Video recorded and produced by Ruwan Perera. All Rights Reserved for Austin Bonsai Society. http://www.austinbonsaisociety.com/ The Austin Bonsai Society is a non-profit organization to provide guidance and education for individuals who wish to expand their knowledge and skill in the art of bonsai. The Society holds regular meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. Our sessions typically start between 6:00 and 7:00. We try to meet at the Zilker Garden Center building, located at Barton Springs Road in Austin, Texas. The Club has adopted Zoom sessions featuring guests artists in past months. We offer individual and family membership. This membership include lectures, demonstrations, slides and other material. The Austin Bonsai Society usually organizes several digging trips each year to collect native plant material, such as cedar elm and Ashe juniper. Visitors are always welcome! Vincent is bonsai artist, yamadori collector, and practitioner. He travels around the country visiting various groups sharing his trees, experience, and wisdom. The Yamadori Olea specimen were sourced by a collaboration of Vincent Le and Hawk Eye Bonsai.
