Lagos State has made significant investments in modernizing its public transportation system, with major projects like the Oshodi Transport Interchange, Ikeja BRT Terminal, Yaba Bus Terminal, Oyingbo Bus Terminal, and the recently commissioned Abule Egba Bus Terminal amongst others. These facilities were designed to enhance commuting efficiency, reduce congestion, and integrate with the Lagos Red Line rail system. In this video, we take a closer look at how these terminals have evolved since their commissioning, highlighting key infrastructure upgrades, maintenance challenges, and their actual level of utilization. Key Topics Covered: ✅ Abule Egba Bus Terminal – Commissioned in February 2025 by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, but still remains closed to the public. ✅ Ikeja BRT Terminal – Opened in March 2018 under former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, now integrated with the lagos Red Line rail with the ikeja train station. ✅ Oshodi Transport Interchange – A $70 million project, commissioned in April 2019 by former President Muhammadu Buhari, with three different terminals but underutilized beyond the ground floor. Plans are underway to redesign the facility for better efficiency. ✅ Yaba Bus Terminal – Integrated with the Yaba Red Line rail station, enhancing seamless multimodal transport. ✅ Oyingbo Bus Terminal – Suffered major damage during the 2020 End SARS protests, renovated but still not operating at full capacity.
