La Roche-Guyon is a commune located on the Seine River in Val-d’Oise, Normandy, France. The Château de La Roche-Guyon, built in the 12th century, and keep are prominent structures in this town in northern France. Construction of the church, Saint-Samson de La Roche-Guyon, began in 1404, originally designed in the flamboyant Gothic style and later finished in the Renaissance style, architecture typical of this region in the 16th century. The historic Potager (kitchen garden) Fruitier at Château de La Roche-Guyon was planted in the early 1700s and restored in 2004. There are many varieties of apple and pear trees in the garden with identification placards.
