VERY LAST COMMERCIAL LANDING AT DONCASTER SHEFFIELD AIRPORT (DSA) - TUI Boeing 737, November 2022

November 4th, 2022 marked a very sad day for aviation in South Yorkshire, the last ever passenger carrying arrival at Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA). Following an announcement by the airport owners, Peel Group, in September this year, the airport is set to close in November bringing an end to over 100 years of aviation activity at the former RAF Finningley sight. Arriving shortly before 9pm this evening, TUI flight BY383, operated by Boeing 737-800 G-TAWW, brought the final passengers into the airfield since it was opened to the public in 2005. The sight is expected to be fully closed to based operators on the 18th November 2022, unless a buyer can be found. #SaveDSA TUI are expected to increase capacity at their other bases in the north of England, whilst Doncasters' other main operator, Wizz Air, has moved all its Eastern European flights to Leeds Bradford at the end of October. A very sad day for all involved in and around aviation in South Yorkshire.
