Goodall Design Foiling Viper sailing Solo with other Vipers configured as Super Sloop

Foiling Viper sailing around against two Super Sloop rigged Vipers training for the Annual Cat S.H.I.T. Regatta. Although the Viper foils extremely well upwind double handed, single handed a lower mode is required to overcome the drag created by the spin bag and all the additional rigging. I got better at it later in the day but there is no video of that and the displacement boats had gone home. The Super Slooped Viper had a better VMG than the solo foiler upwind, even with the differential, on my own I just could not match them. Later O used a “skimming mode” which was a high slow groove. That kept me in touch with the displacement boats to the top mark. Downwind the foiler was much deeper and faster which made up for the upwind losses. What a wonderful little boat…and what is more - you can convert it to a Super Slooped Viper for the Cat S.H.I.T. or go and win the F16 national on it. Excellent!!
