OD GT4 Record Attempt www.OverdriveAutoTuning.com Oct 12 2025 Couldn't have asked for better weather, around 15-16C (60F), rainstorm flooded Bellevue and Seattle just two hours after this run. With stock aero and smaller 19" setup, the GT4 could keep up with our friend's more powerful GT3RS in the straights and matched Vmax at the end of the front straight on this day. Perhaps the big tires on the 3RS and the much wider body contribute to the similarity in top speed with almost 80hp advantage and similar weight. We would argue the car doesn't need 1000+ lbs of downforce and that you'd be adding more drag than it's really worth and you'd need a lot of power mods to compensate. On a car that already runs very hot with oil temps regularly exceeding 136C (277F) we didn't think power is a good strategy. And by running a stock tune and stock headers, we don't have to worry about warranty or CEL. We thought the Goodyear Supercar 3R would last us the whole season but found out 2 days before this even that the rear tires were corded. So the setup is a heat cycled out front pair with a fresh rear pair. Surprisingly this understeery setup where the rear end had a lot more grip gave our driver's some added confidence. Earlier in the season we were fighting snap oversteer but this was not the case. Instead we can clearly hear the front tires screaming for mercy. Most importantly we had our alignment redialed in for the Nth time this season with lessons learned from Area 27 and our first Ridge outing this year where the car did a 1:44.9. We have a philosophy that alignment is incredibly subjective and what works for one's driving style may not work for another. Thus the answer is always seat time and multiple alignments throughout the season. Even after this event it's back to the drawing board as we work to fine tune the chassis and shave a few more tenths.
