This painting is called A Life Well Loved. And no, it wasn’t made in a frenzy. It was made with restraint. Which, frankly, is harder. This 15-minute abstract painting process was a lesson in making more mature decisions as an intuitive artist, knowing when to stop, when to pause, and when to not “just add one more thing” because that voice is a liar. There were moments I wanted to blow it up. There were moments I wanted to fix what didn’t need fixing. There were moments Jesus was absolutely like, “Cheri… put the brush down.” This piece is about letting layers breathe. About honoring history instead of sanding it off. About trusting that presence doesn’t need to shout to be powerful. No tutorials. No pretending I have it all figured out. Just the process, the pauses, and a life that’s been well loved, scratches and all. 🤍 Subscribe for abstract art, creative grit, and the occasional holy cameo ✍️ Tell me what this stirred for you, or where you’re learning restraint lately Amazon Supply List: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2AZX...
