#sonuscore #composeroftheyear2022 #tellurian So there's a bit of a backstory to this score. I couldn't enter the competition by Sonuscore officially because I missed the deadline and was traveling, so I emailed the Sonuscore team asking to be able to take part in this contest but unfortunately they didn't let me take part. However, they were nice enough to email me the footage to score which was really brilliant. I still have to get complete permission to upload this video here on YouTube. I've sent them a return email but they haven't responded so I might have to take this down in case they say no. But anyway, I really liked scoring this trailer. It's an action film trailer and different from the trailers I've worked on in the past. So it was really great fun creating a score to this. For this score I went quite string heavy in my approach, so the bulk of the score is predominantly strings. But I also managed to put in some ethereal atmospheric pads & light sub basses as opposed to synth basslines. There's a bit of brass in there as well, just a bit. There's also slight sequences where I used Spitfire's Albion in bits and pieces, but yea the bulk of it is strings especially the ones that kick in the middle to portray some urgency. I also added some drums towards the end, just to add a bit of a finale and I ended it with a riser and some more analog darkish atmospheric pads. There's also a bit of a story with my gear for this score. So I had ordered the M-Audio BX5 D3 monitors but the ones I received from the music store were tearing at higher volumes, so I had to send them back. But I just got an email today that the replacement has been shipped, so this is literally my last score on my Bookshelf speakers the Thonet & Vander Hoch 2.0 that I've been using for 6 years now. So that's why the volume could be a little louder than usual. Anyway, it's a goodbye to my bookshelfs being the last score made on them before my pro monitors come in. They're a huge pain to work on, but they've served me well. Considering I might have to take this down if the Sonuscore team don't give me permission to keep it up on YouTube, you can check it out now and leave a comment below. I hope the trailer makes for an immersive watch and listen. I really enjoyed making this score. So thank you Sonuscore team for being kind enough to share the video with me despite me missing the deadline. So here's my take..... Cheers!!
