Hear The Bell Toll is a roguelike city builder with a very gorgeous Gothic art style, where we need to pay tribute to an unseen overlord or else they'll... kill us? Maybe? Not sure on that one. Each year we need to earn tribute points and we do that by doing... MATHEMATICS! Yes, it's a maths game! Hooray for us and numbers! Our tribute is calculated by multiplying our population by our tax rate. During a year we can buy and then build things to both increase our population and tax rate, but there are other factors in play too. Some buildings increase crime, sickness or unrest, which can result in us losing population or seeing our tax rate drop. So to help we need to be deploy other buildings to counter those effects, but of course they cost money, and we need to be spending money on increasing the population and tax rate...
