We're zooming through the decades on just two blocks, between Pennsylvania and Meridian, to witness how this iconic street has evolved. In this journey through Miami Beach history, we're activating the Machine to explore a small but significant stretch of Lincoln Road. Join us as we observe the architectural evolution of the historic Lincoln Theater, track the changing retail landscape, including the iconic Saks Fifth Avenue store and conduct a side-by-side comparison of history, using vintage images alongside modern-day views. We will also explore the work of master architect L. Murray Dixon, who had his architectural office on Euclid Avenue right between our targeted blocks. Without him, Art Deco in Miami Beach would be poor indeed. What was once a sleepy mangrove forest is now a bustling pedestrian mall, but the past still echoes. You'll never look at this famous street the same way again.
