On May 26th, 2025, Deputies out of the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a domestic disturbance call in Marengo, Ohio. They had received intel that 53-year-old Brian Wilson, had opened fire on his brother-in-law after an online spat over family issues spilled out into real life. Brian’s brother-in-law escaped unharmed & fled to a nearby ranch. While there, he called police for assistance & they arrived moments later. While establishing the circumstances surrounding the incident, the responding deputy began to get a dispatch call, that told him shots were being fired at Brian’s home once again. Brian would ultimately get into a shootout with Deputy Daniel Sherrer, he had been the one who travelled to Brian’s to get his version of events.
