Taiwan KOM: Cycling the Hardest Hill Climb in the World, Wuling l EP. 9 | Pedal On

The cycling team prepares to take on the final stage of their Taiwan KOM Challenge training as they make their way up to 3,275 m altitude at Wuling. See how they tackle this devilish climb in this episode of Pedal On! Hop back on with our cycling team as they start the grueling climb to Wuling. The next stretch is a long uphill segment that will bring them to another official race pit stop at Xinbaiyang and then to the Bilu sacred tree, a highlight along the race route. This tree stands at 50 m and is more than 3,200 years old. It is the oldest tree along the central cross-island highway. After the team enjoys the views from the Bilu sacred tree, they experience the stunning landscapes from the Yugong Cliff as they pedal on towards the last official pit stop of the KOM, Guanyuan Gas Station, the highest gas station in Taiwan! From here the cyclists make their way to Dayuling, the start of the last grueling hill climb to Wuling. Along the way, we learn more about these cyclists’ diets, training methods and how they prepare for this huge challenge.
