http://www.PacificSports.com To hit a perfect backhand swing, you'll want to first find your backhand grip. Make sure that the V in your hand is pointed to the back edge of the quarter-bevel. The pinkie should be at the very bottom. Next, you're going to turn and face the sidewall. Put both toes along the same board with your feet shoulder-width apart. Set your racquet to your shoulder and, essentially, you'll be forming a "U" with your arm and racquet. You'll have the racquet up, the forearm flat and the elbow bend 90 degrees. Now you're going to drop underneath with the left hand. Toss the ball out and step with your toe in line with your heel. Don't step too aggressively to the side wall. Now you're going to swing in and you want to hit the ball in line with the knuckle of your big toe. Finish your swing and come around flat and point to the sidewall. Release your back foot to take the pressure off your lower back. Your racquet will end up pointing to the side wall and your head will be down and still. You want to be balanced so that, at the end of the swing, you can come up and move to the next ball. Be very careful when you follow through that you don't accidentally hit somebody. People get hit a lot on the follow through on a backhand swing, so be careful not to do that.
