The goal is getting information on the CPU and the RAM specs. First I'll need a Linux machine and a terminal. To get information of the local machines CPU we are going to use the lscpu command. This is going to give you a lot of information including number of cores, socket, MHz speed., the cache and much more. Next are a few different commands that will give us information about system memory. Such as : 1) grep MemTotal /proc/meminfo 2) sudo demidecode --type17 3) sudo demidecode --type17 |more 4) sudo demidecode --type17 | grep -i 'speed' 5) demidecode --type memory 6) sudo lshw -short -C memory 7) free 8) free -m 9) sudo demidecode | less After all that I am going to poke the Linux bear by attempting to get the bios information This is a much shorter list of commands. 1) sudo demidecode -s bios-version 2) sudo demidecode -s --type bios With that I will conclude this lab in favor of getting some sleep.
