A wonderful time with great Professor Mieke Bal in Lublin! Two extraordinary events: “Doctoral Days” organized by the Doctoral Research Society of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin 31 March – 3 April 2025 and “A Week with Professor Mieke Bal in Lublin” organized by the Institute of Arts Studies (the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin) 31 March – 4 April 2025. 31 March 2025: Doctoral Days’ opening lecture: “Art of Sadness” All those events were held at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. Including both events, we could participate in the workshops for students and PhD candidates, a seminar for PhD students as well as individual consultations. We also visited most the important places for the Lublin cultural heritage, such as: the Lublin Castle - National Museum, The “Grodzka Gate” - NN Theatre, and the Labyrinth Gallery (Galeria Labirynt) which held an exhibition of Mieke Bal's "Don Quijote: Sad Countenances / Don Kichot: Smętne oblicza".
