Date filmed: 06/04/2021 Video filmed at 14:03 Route: Marlow Branch Line Just out of Bourne End Station towards Marlow Timetable used: Bourne End Location: Wharf Lane, Bourne End Trains: Class 165 (Great Western Railway) - 0:37 One of two half barrier level crossings located only 200 feet apart within Bourne End on the banks of the River Thames. This is the busier of the two level crossings as a lot of pedestrians and vehicles frequently cross it to enter and exit the Marina. Both of the alarms here are quiet, and one of which was sounding with a rather fast and wobbly tone too. The left-hand wigwag on the approach to the marina had been turned around to face a nearby driveway when this video was filmed, though it has since been turned back to face down the road. The red/white LED drivers' crossing indicator on the approach to this level crossing also belongs to the other level crossing (Bourne End Brooksby) which is seen at the end of the video, as the two are so close together. The alarms at this level crossing can very briefly be heard re-activating at the end of the level crossing sequence due to a barrier being slower to lock into the 'raised' position. Both this level crossing and the Brooksby Level Crossing near it used to be un-gated open level crossings with very retro warning equipment up until the late 2000s. Thanks for watching!
