The Neighborly's debut single 1001 Windows conjures warm feelings of an iconic childhood and challenges even the busiest and distracted of people to think back to a more simple and innocent time. Filmmaker and director Jonny Burkholder was inspired by the song and filmed this beautiful short story about a father who, worn down by life, has lost his ability to get back that childhood innocence but his own children help him remember in the end. Surrounded by 1001 windows, may we all find the missing door back to innocence. The Neighborly is an Americana pop folk duo in the style of the Civil Wars, Over the Rhine, JohnnySwim and The Weepies, consisting of real life neighbors Arissa May and Brock Lawley. Known for their weaving melodies and intricate harmonies, they write music about life, love, family and faith as they navigate life in the middle. 1001 Windows on iTunes / 1001-windows-single https://www.theneighborlymusic.com www.facebook.com/theneighborlymusic www.instagram.com/theneighborly Words and Music By: Brock Lawley All Rights Reserved Dot your I’s and cross your Ts Elbows off the table say thank you and say please No watches, no worries Barefoot on the pavement The best we’d yet to see A hand full of pennies Bought your dreams In General store candy And Ice cream Everything else was free Pants rolled high In a knee deep creek Catching Crayfish we could never keep Balance barefoot on a mossy tree I’ve never felt so free God an I shared a bedroom I’d pray each night Looking at the moon Couldn’t grow up too soon Fourth of July firework fun The world was as big as your legs could run Summer wasn’t hot when we were young The only concern was that setting sun When mother yelled dinner the day was done Now I pay the mortgage and I lock my doors I’d trade this job for my old chores To Spend the whole day on all fours Only the boring could ever get bored Innocent but we want more So much outside So much In store 1001 windows But no door
