Replicating Mändli and Rönkkö (2025) with Gemini CLI

I am replicating my own article, Mändli and Rönkkö (2025), https://doi.org/10.1177/1094428123122... with Gemini CLI using Gemini 2.5 Pro running in Positron R editor. The model could replicate the paper accurately, but required some prompting and did weird things like inserting a large number of empty lines to the R file. Nevertheless, this is very impressive, given that the simulation model specification was not included in the text but in a figure. The figure is a bitmap, which does not contain machine-readable text, but the model used its multimodal capabilities to interpret the image.
