Dialogue host Marcia Franklin talks wtih filmmaker Dawn Porter about her documentary, "Gideon's Army," which premiered on HBO July 1, 2013. The film looks at the lives and cases of three public defenders in the deep South. Franklin asks Porter how she found and developed the story, and about some of the challenges she faced. The two also discuss the state of the public defense system 50 years after the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Gideon v. Wainwright, which said that all Americans are guaranteed an attorney when accused of a crime.
