I've been super interested in this band since the moment I found them, I guess it was an issue of being at the wrong place at the wrong time, or maybe they were too eclectic for the big labels to give them a shot? I unfortunately don't have a ton of background on the band since fans of them are very very few and far between. Anyway, this is essentially a Progressive Rock album that isn't afraid to touch on some of the emerging Alternative stylings of the time, while not abandoning its 70s roots. There's a bit of Metal, a bit of funk, a couple Prog epics, etc. Pretty much something for everyone. The singer, Max Vanderwolf, has an extremely distinct voice that you'll either love or hate. The musicianship here is top notch though, the songs are complex, but still catchy enough to keep you bobbing your head. I wish these guys had a better label and wider distribution because the stuff on here is CRIMINALLY unknown in my opinion. My personal favorites are probably A Song on Fire, Stillborn, Blackberry Saturday and Next Stop, Chapel Perilous. Also there's a neat cover of Bowie's "Andy Warhol" at the very end of the album(it's considered a hidden track since it's not listed anywhere).
