In this episode Dr Lieberman explains cervical radiculopathy and its treatment with anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) - the treatment for neck pain shooting down the arm. Cervical radiculopathy is caused by a herniated disc or bone spur in your neck. The surgical treatmet is ACDF. In surgery your herniated disc is removed and a bone graft or artifical disc placed in it's place. If a bone plug is used, then a thin plate and four small screws are used to secure it. ACDF surgery is performed by a neurosurgeon or orthopedic spine surgeon. Submit your questions at: BestPracticeHealth.tv We're here to answer YOUR questions!
