A day in the life of Dr. Magen Heide, primary care physician with Prisma Health

#PrismaHealth's Magen Heide, MD, starts her day bright and early with a cup of coffee, a healthy breakfast and some quick conversation with her husband before she heads out the door to the office. Dr. Heide's time with patients includes both in-person office visits and also virtual care appointments, providing comprehensive care. With patients ranging from young adults just leaving pediatrics to receive adult primary care for the first time to senior citizens enjoying their golden years, Dr. Heide sees a wide variety of concerns. She also works with resident physicians to help them gain a better, more complete understanding of what it's like to provide primary care. On Tuesdays, she works with residents at the resident clinic, supervising residents as they work with patients and providing advice and helping them to build a care plan for every patient. "I love my patients," said Dr. Heide. "One of the best parts about being a primary care doctor is that I have these long-standing relationships with my patients. We get to know each other well. They send me messages and update me when their kids get married or they have a change in health for themselves or their spouse. That's really what fills my cup at the end of the day." Dr. Heide always wanted to live a life of service, and being a healthcare provider allows her to reach out to take care of others in their time of need.
