Here is another way to create a unique print on fabric or paper. Note that it will be a reverse image of the quilted top. First I painted and heat distressed a piece of heavyweight (100 gram) lutradur, then sandwiched it with two pieces of cotton and a piece of cotton batting, then free motion quilted it. Next I spread acrylic paint on my Gel plate and laid the back side of the art quilt down on the plate, rubbed with my hands but could have used a brayer. Then lifted the art quilt off which left an impression on the gel plate. Then I placed a piece of fabric on to the plate, rolled with the brayer and carefully lifted the fabric off revealing a piece of printed fabric I will use in another art piece. I did it once more using a bit less paint (Textile paint this time) and the quilting lines showed up even better. *Paint - http://amzn.to/2xueLkl *Gelli Arts Print Plate - http://amzn.to/2D5Nnz8 *Lutradur - http://amzn.to/2iacJz6 See part 2 - • Gel Print from Quilted Lutradur pt2 Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate :http://www.gelliarts.com/ Dharma Trading: http://www.dharmatrading.com/ *This post may contain affiliate links; purchasing through these links helps support this channel at no extra cost to the purchaser.
