Hollywood is mourning the loss of legendary actor Gene Hackman, and his death is shrouded in mystery, as authorities label it “suspicious.” Gene and his wife Betsy Arakawa were both found dead in their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, along with one of their dogs. According to the sheriff’s office search warrant affidavit, the front door had been left open, but there was no sign of forced entry. Authorities say Betsy was found in the bathroom with an open prescription bottle and pills scattered near her. Her body was partially mummified, with decomposition already setting in. Gene was found in another room and appeared to have fallen. The fire department says it found no signs of a carbon monoxide leak or poisoning.
