This is a story of how a Thai man saved the lives of thousands of Allied prisoners of war held by the Japanese Imperial Army in Kanchanaburi Thailand. When Allied forces surrendered to the Japanese they were left with 200,000 prisoners of war. The Japanese used these men to build a railway between Thailand and Myanmar. This railway is knows as the Death Railway for the shear number of men who died constructing it. These men endured torture, starvation, beatings and tropical diseases. One man would not stand complacently by and watch these men die terribly. His name was Boonpong Sirivejaphan. This is his story. #kanchanaburi #travelthailand #thairishtimes I filmed this at various locations around Kanchanaburi province. I highly recommend doing this DIY tour. I hired a rental car for 46 USD (1,400 Baht) per day. Kanchanaburi War Cemetery: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kan...
