Proverbs 4 — Blessing, Invitation, and GIFT (first from God to me, and now from me to you) I have been feasting on these words since this morning and had the nudge to share the feast with you. As we step into this Lenten journey, may this be an invitation to tend to the soil of your heart—slowing down, listening deeply, and allowing Jesus to shape the season you’re in from the inside out. If you’d like a companion for the journey, explore our Seeds Lenten Toolkit: https://bit.ly/SeedsLentenToolkitFeb23 I come to you from the foot of our cross in the backyard. May these words not return void, as promised in Isaiah 55:11, and be to you whatever seeds of life God intends. There is something so alive in this passage—so personal, so invitational. Almost as if a Father is leaning in, speaking directly to you. As the TPT commentary notes: Verse 1: “Read and study this entire chapter as though it were Jesus Christ speaking to you. He is the Father of Eternity, and we are called his sons.” (See Isa. 9:6–7 and Rev. 21:6–7.) Verse 23: And right at the heart of it—literally—there is this invitation: “The Hebrew word levav is the most common word for ‘heart.’ It includes our thoughts, our wills, our discernment, and our affections.” So when we hear: “Above all else, guard your heart…” …it is not just about emotion. It is about the whole inner life—the wellspring of who we are. Verse 23: And this part stopped me in my tracks: “Although most translations have ‘the issues of life,’ the Hebrew word yasa is actually ‘seasons,’ especially springtime. Out of your heart flow the seasons of life. It is our hearts, not our ages or circumstances, that shape the seasons of our lives. If our hearts are tender to God, we can live in perpetual springtime.” What a promise. What an invitation. --- 📖 Read Proverbs 4 in full (I encourage you to linger, listen, and receive it as spoken directly to you): https://www.bible.com/bible/1849/PRO.... 🤍 I’d love to hear what stands out to you—what word, phrase, or invitation feels alive. 🙏 May this be a place of pause… a place of returning… a place of softening your heart before Him. xo, Sarah DT & the Seeds fam 🌱
