Proposal for Etiology - Correlation to Scapho-Lunate Instability and DCSS injury. The Wrist Ganglions are clinical signs of an articular disease. Most of Dorsal Symptomatic Ganglions are correlated to a specific pattern of patients: Young , female, hand labours with ligament hyper laxity. We proposed the term PHYWS (Painful Hypermobile Wrist Syndrome) to define this disease. Animation demonstrates the proposed etiology for Symptomatic Dorsal Wrist Ganglions with Pedicle origin at DCSS (Dorsal Capsule Scapho-Lunate Septum) commonly found on PHYWS patients. Arthroscopy treatment defines the diagnosis, since determines the presence of SL instability, and proposed treatment is ganglion debridement and resection through mid carpal dorsal capsulectomy and arthroscopic dorsal Capsulodesis by Mathoulin Technique. Mechanical stress on the lax joint, under SL pre dynamic instability, leads to DCSS stress and injury. Synovial fluid scape through SL joint, dissecting the DCSS crossing fibres and flows by a tortuous pathway creating a Bunsen Valve Mechanism. The growth of the cyst leads to more damage to DCSS (important secondary stabiliser of SL joint) and thus, increased SL instability. #HandSurgery #Ganglions #Wrist #Scapholunate #DCSS #WristArthroscopy Confira o nosso Instagram para mais detalhes - / dr_gustavo_mantovani / redeopera
