FINNAIR A350-900 AY1332 Economy Class - London Heathrow to Helsinki, LHR Lounge Hopping (4K)

After spending over 25hrs travelling with Qantas from Sydney via Singapore, it was time for some lounge hopping at LHR T3 before my next flight to Helsinki. (Lounge access courtesy of Frequent Flyer status). Based on previous visits I have found the shower facilities in the Cathay Pacific Lounge are superior to what the Qantas Lounge offers, so that was my first stop. After freshening up, it was time for my First Breakfast (in true Hobbit style). The offerings in both the sit down full service area, and the self serve buffet were great, opting for a fresh steamed Pork Bun, and Eggs Benedict. After some plane spotting (the views are better in the Cathay Lounge) it was time to spend some time in the Qantas London Lounge. I had forgotten that the full service table dining service started at 9:30am, and being around 8:00am, it was upstairs to grab a Second Breakfast from the buffet offering. It was not long before I needed to head to the gate, and with Terminal 3 being so big plenty of time was allowed to get to Gate 17 where the Finnair Airbus A350-900 (OH-LWP) was waiting. Boarding was on time, and one of the great things with the A350 flights between LHR & HEL is currently they do not offer Premium Economy as a service, so they use that cabin for either High Status passengers (at no cost) or for a small surcharge to all other passengers as Extra Legroom (Comfort) seats. Regular Economy service is still provided, which on such a short flight is only Complimentary Water & Blueberry Juice (everything else is a paid option). The flight was held back a bit, due to very strong tail winds expected, and as we pushed back the Captain announced the flight time would only be just over 2 hours, rather than the usual 3 hours. During taxiing, watching many other airlines take off, or position was great, and eventually we were on Runway 27R and taking off. The flight was smooth, uneventful and the Premium Economy seats super comfortable. Arrival into a wet and dreary Helsinki was slightly early, and by the time immigration had been cleared, and baggage had been collected, that rain had changed to snow, one of the first snow falls for the season in Helsinki (it has been a very mild Autumn so far).
