Wait no longer! The time has come to venture onto those first ice spots on the Upper Mississippi River. Of course, this must be done while taking all safety considerations, such as checking with a spud, having ice picks ready, and wearing a float suit. You are responsible for your safety! Fortunately, I got out on a familiar early ice spot and found crappie and bluegills eager to bite. The bite was productive and produced enough footage for two early ice-fishing videos.
