The Summer Bank Holiday Weekend ‘getaway’ means many things to many people, for us it meant ‘getting away’ from everything and everyone and we certainly managed to do just that at Fiddle Hill Cottage on the Priestrig Croft north of Hawick (Hoyk) in the Scottish Borders. This stunning log cabin has all the mod cons you could possibly need but in a traditional cosy country cottage style. Set in a beautiful rural location only a couple of miles from Hawick, where only the sound of birdsong breaks the silence. Peace 🕊️ New owners Laura and David made every effort to make us feel welcome, from the delicious homegrown fresh fruit and homemade jam in the welcome pack to cupboards and drawers full of everything you need to make this cottage a home from home. I felt very relaxed from the moment I set foot in the impressive post and beam log home, sleeping soundly on the huge handmade wooden bed and enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature from the decking. Even the rain couldn’t dampen our spirits as it was wonderful to listen to it whilst cosy and warm inside with the log burner lit. A little bit of heaven on earth, I can definitely recommend Fiddle Hill Cottage and we’ll certainly be back!
