I start out camping on BLM land near Fruita, then get up and take my bike out for a ride around an OHV area — still learning the trails and getting more comfortable riding. After that, I head into Grand Junction to knock out some van chores like dumping gray water and picking up an Amazon package. Not the glamorous side of van life, but part of living on the road. From there, I drive out to the Dominguez–Escalante Wilderness trailhead to camp for the night, cook dinner in the van, and enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by canyon country. The next morning, I head out to explore the wilderness. The Dominguez–Escalante Wilderness protects over 200,000 acres of rugged canyons, mesas, and desert landscapes carved by the Gunnison and Uncompahgre Rivers.
