Title in Russian since it does not fit in YT: "Электромусыкальный Инструмент Екводин - Информатионная Запись" For more details, check the post on the Rabbit Ears blog: https://rabbitears.rip/unknown-ekvodi... This is perhaps one of the biggest treasures I have found while trawling for vinyl. This is a demonstration record for the famed "Ekvodin" synthesizer, specifically for model V-9 (В-9), recorded likely in 1960 and definitely before 1964, since this is not a Melodiya record (the sleeve is generic). While there are many recordings of the Ekvodin series of synthesizers as part of Vyacheslav Mescherin's orchestra, there are very few recordings of the Ekvodin in isolation that show its remarkable versatility in tone. This record is the only one I have found anywhere that really showcases the varied sounds of the Ekvodin, and shows you just how Mescherin's orchestra could craft their otherworldly sound. Side A is a demonstration of the Ekvodin's "voices" for different timbres, playing along with a piano for contrast. Side B (15:23) shows off what a quartet of Ekvodin players can sound like, with Russian folk songs as well as those of relatively modern composers such as Rimsky-Korsakov. Watch for the performance of "Flight of the Bumblebee"! It is quite interesting. Enjoy! video upload powered by https://www.TunesToTube.com
