Taken from MMV - MMXXV, A Reverse Chronology of the Past 20 Years, a two disc collection of 22 songs spanning My Silent Wake´s whole career. Pre-order at: https://www.arduamusic.com/ https://mysilentwake1.bandcamp.com/ The compilation includes brand new recordings from this year 2025 all the way back to My Silent Wake first ever recording. There is a brand new interpretation of Hunting Season recorded 20 years after the original, a tribute to the late, great Mike Hitchen, some rarities, and some deep cuts on offer. Ian would say on A Bleak Fateful Night: "This brand new track was written shortly after the death of Mike Hitchen, towards the end of last year. The event was a shock and a tragedy. This song is my way of paying tribute to my close friend." LYRICS I will miss the embrace at your door Like long-lost kin I will miss the benevolent host The welcome within Your eyes could never conceal A heart that held beauty inside ‘til that bleak fateful night Bestowed upon you an archangel’s name A heathen that could put the holy to shame With laughter and madness remembered so well Or darkened times when you tempered hell A light burned inside your mind Led by your heart I’m lost for words now Don’t know where to start I just wish we could go back and lift you away As fate charred the colours to grey On that desolate, bleak fateful night My poor lost brother Our hearts ache for you and break for each other All I can offer are thoughts, forged through pain You will always be loved In memories we treasure Your life, cut short, was never in vain. ---------------------- Ian - Guitar / vox Addam - Bass Gareth - Percussion Simon - Keys / vox Produced / mixed by Greg Chandler Recorded at Priory Recording Studios Additional parts recorded at 1000 BC by Mark Broomhead Video assembled by Matthew Vickerstaff
